Slash and burn the feeling
The paint drips down the surface
Tearing and revealing
Paiting the crimson dawn
The auburn days to come
The skies burn with ardour
The passion of countless stars
Etched into the very grain
Of the firmament's endless scars
The painting has started to crack
In it age has sunk its fangs
Patterns of snake-like veins
Fiery serpents entagled, entwined
In the cracks of the sun-lit clouds
Red worms that engulf the skyline
Corroding and consuming
Yet by erasure creating
Leaving marks of time
Adding layers by fading
The sky is red with blood of gods
The heat bleeds out from the wounded Sun
And I am blinded by the light
And I am blinded by this sight

My mind's own crimson dawn
